Aluminum Foil 8011 For Flexible Duct

March 3, 2026

As technical staff at Haomei Aluminum specializing in aluminum foil production and export, our company has many years of experience in the research, development, production, and global export of aluminum foil for flexible ducts. Haomei Aluminum’s 8011 alloy aluminum foil is a preferred material for flexible ducts, and with its precise ingredient ratios and mature production processes, it meets the production needs of various flexible ducts worldwide.

8011 aluminum foil for flexible duct

Flexible ducts place stringent requirements on the flexibility, sealing performance, and environmental resistance of aluminum foil. Due to its optimized Al-Fe-Si composition, 8011 aluminum alloy is the optimal material for this field. We have established a specification system that combines standardization and customization to meet the demands of the export market. In standard mass production specifications, the thickness is controlled between 0.08-0.2mm, with 0.08-0.13mm being the mainstream export specification, balancing lightweight design and structural strength, suitable for mid-to-high-end HVAC systems. Widths of 50-1000mm can be cut to fit specific needs, with a standard 60mm width suitable for mainstream duct diameters. Special widths can be quickly customized according to customer orders to meet the diverse needs of duct production in different regions. All aluminum foils are in the O-temper (fully annealed) to ensure excellent ductility, allowing for repeated bending and forming without breakage. They also support smooth or embossed surface treatments; smooth surfaces reduce airflow resistance, while embossed surfaces improve adhesion to the insulation layer.

Core production technology is key to product competitiveness. We have overcome numerous technical challenges by relying on our independently developed production processes. Regarding alloy composition, we strictly control the Fe content to 0.75%-0.85% and the Si content to 0.55%-0.65%, precisely proportioning other trace elements to ensure both the flexibility of the aluminum foil and its puncture resistance, solving the industry pain point of traditional aluminum foil being easily damaged. During production, a twin-roll continuous casting and rolling method is used to prepare the billet. The casting and rolling zone thickness is controlled at 48-52mm, and the front box temperature is stabilized at 675-705℃. Subsequent processes include multiple cold rolling and foil rolling, combined with a graded degreasing and annealing process. This involves preheating for 2-4 hours, holding at 200℃ for 10 hours in the degreasing section, and holding at 240℃ for 18 hours in the performance improvement section. This ensures the aluminum foil surface is free of oil stains and pinholes, with thickness tolerance controlled within ±0.005mm. Simultaneously, an online thickness and pinhole detection system is implemented, and each batch of products undergoes rigorous testing to meet international standards such as ASTM and EN, ensuring consistency for export products.

Based on global export experience, our 8011 aluminum foil demonstrates significant advantages in practical applications.

In terms of lightweighting, aluminum’s density is only 1/3 that of iron, significantly reducing the overall weight of ductwork and decreasing structural load on buildings. This is particularly suitable for installation in high-rise buildings, which is the core reason why customers in Europe, America, and Southeast Asia prioritize this product.

In terms of corrosion resistance, the aluminum foil naturally forms a protective oxide film on its surface. Combined with optional chromating treatment, it can adapt to complex environments such as humidity and temperature fluctuations, preventing rust and damage from long-term use of the ductwork and extending its service life.

Furthermore, its excellent heat reflectivity helps improve the thermal insulation effect of the ductwork, reducing the energy consumption of the air conditioning system; its good sealing performance effectively prevents airflow leakage and ensures ventilation efficiency.

For many years, our 8011 aluminum foil for flexible duct has been exported in bulk to more than 20 countries and regions worldwide. We optimize product details according to different market demands, such as improving environmental standards for the European market and enhancing moisture resistance for the Southeast Asian market. As production technicians, we always focus on practical needs, continuously optimizing production processes to ensure that every roll of aluminum foil meets customer expectations, providing reliable and professional aluminum foil solutions for flexible duct manufacturers worldwide.
