Plastic coated aluminum foil is popular applied to flexible packaging for food, beverage, cosmetic, medicine, snakes and so on. Flexible packaging refers to packaging where the shape of the container can change after filling or removing the contents. Various bags, boxes, and sachets made from paper, aluminum foil, fiber, plastic film, and their composites are all considered flexible packaging.
Single-layer films have different advantages and disadvantages. For example, polyester film has high strength and excellent resistance to oil, gas, odor, and moisture. However, it has poor heat sealing properties. On the other hand, polyethylene film has good moisture resistance and heat sealing properties but lacks in gas and oil resistance. Aluminum foil is lightweight and good for food packaging, but it is easy to tear and has air tightness. These films have individual performance weaknesses when used alone as plastic packaging.
However, by combining aluminum foil with polyethylene film, it is possible to maintain the high strength and good oil resistance, gas resistance, fragrance preservation, and moisture resistance of the polyester film, while also having good heat sealing properties. The plastic laminated aluminum foil are usually used for food packaging, medicine packaging, beverage packaging and other packaging field.
The purpose of aluminum plastic composite foil is to combine multiple layers of film together, overcoming the disadvantages of single-layer films while incorporating the advantages of each layer of film, resulting in an ideal packaging material. Additionally, by printing on the film and then laminating it, the ink is sandwiched between the layers of film, protecting it from direct friction, scratching, and damage from corrosive substances. This not only effectively solves issues such as color bleeding and fading in plastic printing but also avoids direct contact between ink and food or drugs for safety and hygiene purposes.
