Industrial-grade aluminum foil with paper baked is far more than a simple bonding of aluminum foil and paper. Paper backed aluminum foil employs a three-layer composite structure: an aluminum foil functional layer + an adhesive layer + a paper-based support layer. Different material combinations can be tailored to specific needs in various scenarios. The aluminum foil layer typically uses 8011-O aluminium foil oder 1235 Aluminiumlegierung, with thicknesses ranging from 6μm to 50μm. Flexible selection is available based on barrier rating, with 10-20μm thickness being the mainstream standard. The paper base layer can be made of 30-200g/㎡ industrial kraft paper, glassine paper, or food-grade white cardboard, catering to different applications such as insulation lamination, release liner, and printing/packaging. Finished product widths range from 500-1600mm, supporting continuous supply of large rolls, with a maximum single roll length of 3000 Meter, allowing direct integration into customer automated production lines. Regarding core performance indicators, the composite peel strength at room temperature is ≥1.2N/15mm, und danach 20 cycles of high and low temperatures from -20℃ to 80℃, there is no delamination or warping. The food-grade version fully complies with EU 1935/2004 and FDA food contact standards, posing no risk of harmful substance migration.
The technical hurdle of aluminum-paper lamination lies precisely in the three seemingly basic requirements of “no delamination, no wrinkling, and no deformation.” Our team optimized the process step by step: Zuerst, we switched to a weather-resistant water-based polyurethane adhesive, precisely controlling the adhesive application rate at 3-5 g/m², ensuring interface adhesion while preventing adhesive seepage through the paper; zweite, we optimized the three-stage gradient drying curve, stabilizing the finished product’s moisture content within the 6%-8% range to offset the temperature and humidity fluctuations during ocean shipping; dritte, we adopted full-width constant tension composite control, with a lateral tension difference ≤2N and a finished product straightness error of less than 0.5%, completely resolving the edge curling problem during subsequent slitting and construction. For food-grade customers, we use a solvent-free composite process, with a finished product solvent residue of <0.5 mg/m², far below the internationally accepted limit.
The core value of this composite structure is to compensate for the application shortcomings of pure aluminum foil with a low-cost paper base. Compared to pure aluminum foil, paper backing significantly improves material stiffness and tear resistance, making it less prone to wrinkling and damage during on-site construction and machining. Außerdem, multi-color printing can be directly applied to the paper backing, eliminating the need for separate labeling. Compared to pure paper, the aluminum foil layer achieves 100% light blocking and near-zero moisture transmittance, is grease-resistant and puncture-resistant, extending the effective lifespan of packaging and linings by 3-5 mal.
